Wednesday, December 5, 2018 - Terrific nose with deep base notes of plum tart, blackberry pie, tar, pipe tobacco, blue flowers and baking spice. Very dark and almost brooding. Then in the mouth terrific acid and near weightlessness. The fruit is fresh and lifted introducing a melange of ground pepper, blackberries from the bramble, shiitake, forest floor and plum skin. It's really an astounding dichotomy between the senses. I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to taste with Jeff recently and his wines are absolutely inspiring.
