Tuesday, January 1, 2019 - Popped, poured. Probably the most complex, interesting and even profound Cotes du Rhône I have ever tasted, making this an absolute train robbery. Dark purple-ruby with red tears. Jammy raspberries and kirsch dominate the nose. Full fruit in the mouth, tannins abundant but well-integrated, anise and earth, Mourvèdre in evidence, this is more than a little reminiscent of Beaucastel. Absolutely a buy-a-case wine. 5-13–16-9: 93/100.
