Saturday, January 5, 2019 - Richly fruited. Simmering with hints of alcohol though. Cassis and menthol. Very Australian! Palate rich and cassis again, with a lushness and depth to it. Doesn't really come across as Italian to me though, nor Bordeaux: this is rich, new-world-type winemaking, with fruit and excitement at the expense of poise, grace and charm. Again, this really could be from Australia as well as other areas! Perhaps overpriced too (35-40Eur). Perhaps not. Delicious but also somewhat hard-work. OK now, and would cope with medium-term ageing I think (until 2025), but I'm not sure it will reveal more by doing so. 92+?
