Monday, January 21, 2019 - I think expectations are higher given the producer, but I think this is a really fine Macon with rich apple and luscious mouthfeel. Yet it has plenty of acidity for the finish. Yeah, it is double the price of most Macon wines and not what a Comtes Lafon Meursault would be, but to me it is amazing neutral oak Chardonnay for early drinking when the fruit is still the driving force. They can age some, but I prefer them in the 1st 4-5 years. Les Maranches has been one of the most reliable vineyards after a friend recommended it to me.
