93 Points

Sunday, April 1, 2007 - Out the gate this was more subtle than I had expected. It is a light medium bodied wine with a very good bloody color and a nose of stewed cherries. There were times when, as I drank, there seemed to be a very light note of tca. I could never confirm this, and the wine was very good. Well, at first I was not too impressed because I had expected a more overt style. This is not that. Once I got into the groove of the wine, I found it to be subtle, mineral, and in possession of garrigue with beautiful kirsch and cherry elements. I can’t say that this wine was profound, it was confounding, but it kept me on my toes. I’m glad I have more. I don’t see this as a 95 point wine, maybe 93, but it’s a very good 93.
