91 Points

Friday, May 24, 2019 - One glass from Coravin at Hotel Impérial in Annecy. At restaurant, one glass is 2/3-3/4 the price of... a full bottle. Regardless... Nice medium pale yellow colour. The nose is open with mineral aromas, citrus, faint butter-hazelnut touch as well as very faint aniseed. On the palate, the attack is frank with a good acidity, a nice persistent flavour with the same aromas as on the nose - good length, great balance. I preferred the balance and flavour profile on this compared to the C-M Les Baudines 2014 by the same producer. This was denser and a touch rounder, whereas Les Baudines was (relatively speaking) more Chablis like - tensile, higher acidity, less mineral. Anyhow, this one scores a good 91. I like it already today with a bit of air, but it can undoubtedly last another 5-8 years.
