Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - Rich colour, still youthful but with some browning at the edges. Rich and savoury style, displays rich plummy fruit but it is much more about earth and spice, big and full (15% ABV) but not jammy, plush but slightly drying tannins, and a modicum of 2010 freshness. Rich but tight finish with a sense of back-end heat. This is quite impressive, and drinks pretty well today, but I am not sure where it is going. The delightful 2000 (13.5% ABV) lasted for almost 20 years, and this has more power but also a lot more alcohol. Does this have the balance for another 10 years?
