Wednesday, July 3, 2019 - Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Cellar Visit and Tasting (Chambolle-Musigny): An educational visit with François Millet. A wet 2018 spring was followed by a hot summer summer and drought. An August 30th harvest was the earliest at Vogüé since 1895! Everything was ripe - flesh, seeds and skin. The wine is 50-75% done with ML, based on cuvee, but there is so little malic acid that it is barely apparent. François says this is a vintage that truly expresses summer.

Barrel tasting at the domaine. 80-90% ML complete. Stunning red and black berry aromas with fully savory spice. Similar flavor profile with incredible brightness and length. Also incredibly dark, but so texturally exciting with silky tannins and great length. Wow, 96-97 point potential.
