Friday, July 26, 2019 - In my opinion, this is a pop and pour Cabernet Franc at this moment. I do not believe any additional years in bottle are going to make this one any better. This wine is ready to kick butt. Full bodied, glass coating wine. Nose of black fruit, tar, hint of iodine and some floral notes although the floral has gone from primary to secondary over the years of aging. Palate is rather consistent with the nose, but added some dark cocoa powder towards the finish. Good acidity throughout, but the edges on this wine have definitely softened. Finishes a little bit gritty, which I think is mostly tannin integration. I think this one will hang around for at least another five years. But, this one is drinking most certainly at peak.
