Sunday, August 11, 2019 - I reached for this when a guest had brought one of the heavier Wagner cabs (1858) wanting to showcase something darker and richer but without confection. The 16 Palisades does not disappoint, with all its inky black goodness.

In 16, I noted more chalky graphite notes and chewier tannins, with less candied fruit than 15. It’s just as dark, but slightly less fruit and more structure compared to the last few vintages. One to cellar for certain!
