Saturday, April 20, 2019 - Absolutely stunning, the 2010 Flor de Pingus is truly a wonderful effort. It needs a lot of time in the decanter and then in the glass but after about an hour or two the wine opens up and provides brilliant red fruit, raspberry, thyme, sage, kirsch and subtle lavender. The palate follows through nicely. It is wonderfully integrated and provides a lot of intriguing complexity despite nine years of age. The tannins are present as is the acidity. The length on the finish just goes on and on. This wine will continue to develop for another (couple of?) decade or more. It is a total stunner tonight already. That's for sure.
