Saturday, October 12, 2019 - Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whites, 8 Reds, & 7 *shared* bottles] from 10/11/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Oscar, WHAT a *fascinating* wine! I can't thank you enough for sharing it! :)

Should you be interested, I’ve uploaded info for this vintage which you can peruse at your leisure. 😉

N: Lt grassiness, notes of asparagus? Lemons underneath? Intensity lurking?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt BEAUTIFULLY offset by an acidity which SEAMLESSLY transitions into a very LONG, impeccably BALANCED, tangy/swt finish. Very, VERY *nicely* done for now & through '21, though may WELL go longer because of the balance & acidity. My EXC+ (94,95/100 on that metric). [As of mid Oct '19, wine-searcher shows numerous sources from $20-$25].

FYI, 1st, knowing the general price range of the Enemigo reds, I was THINKING this was a $50+ Chard, my "score" above therefore not giving even the SLIGHTEST "break" for its REAL price pt (of which I knew nothing). 2nd, a VERY experienced taster, albeit NO fan of S. Am wines in general, wasn't NEARLY as enamored of this as I. :( So, I'm thinking this is quite poss a "like it or leave it" style.
