Monday, December 30, 2019 - At Bern’s. Decanted shortly before dinner. Classic Pauillac nose of cassis, tobacco and maybe a little lead pencil. Still had life left, and a bit of structure. Most at the table preferred the 1961 Grand-Pontet, but I liked this better. The cold cellar of Bern’s and 66 years transformed a modest wine into a gem.
