Wednesday, January 8, 2020 - PnP into gabriel glas. Transparent ruby color without significant bricking. Warm and inviting open nose showing secondary characteristics of leather and iron ore along with spiced cherries and red fruit, even a touch of iodine. Flavors on the palate follow as expected and there is clear evidence of a developed wine here. The body is medium, with concealed alcohol (14.5%) and soft on the palate with present but relaxed tannins - For my taste, it is into the drinking window but still with some gains to be made over the next 3-5 years. I am also someone who thinks that Brunello at this level should be consumed before 15 years time. All in all a delightful showing from this bottle, purchased at retail and moved between several fridges over the past few years.
