Wednesday, January 22, 2020 - My first wine of this type. The bottle is sealed with a glass stopper, something I have never seen in a wine before. Lemon colour. Sweet lemon nose, but it's quite faint even in a large glass. Perhaps a touch tropical, too. Very lean, then an almost watery midpalate, with more punch on the finish. More tropical fruit. Reminds me of a New Zealand sauvignon blanc in some ways, albeit at more than twice what I'd pay for the quality. Don't serve it too cold, and/or pair with food. For curiosity rather than regular drinking. [Plastic-lined glass stopper; 13.5% abv; Cornelius Wine, ~£25].
