Wednesday, March 11, 2020 - Cork crumbled, requiring sieves, cheesecloth and fuss. Initially, momentarily, it seemed to have not been worth it -- it seemed wan, as if its lifeforce had crumbled along with the cork. Dumb old me: an hour later and the wine was singing, and didn't remotely seem 15 years of age. Salty lime, yeast, yellow curry, vanilla, mild oxidative notes. (An astonishingly great pairing with our chickpea-chorizo-cilantro-n-lime tostadas.) Based on this bottle, this wine seems a glorious, ageless beast.
