Loved it. Super reductive, struck match and tart acid implode on your tongue and you cheeks cave in. Citrus and apple come through, and so does a lightly oxidized fino sherry element with candle wick. But the wine does not oxidize all that much before the oille forms and it finishes without O2. So you really get both the oxidation and the reductiveness -- playing with air on both ends of the spectrum. Cool wine. Not for everyone.

Cork crumbled, requiring sieves, cheesecloth and fuss. Initially, momentarily, it seemed to have not been worth it -- it seemed wan, as if its lifeforce had crumbled along with the cork. Dumb old me: an hour later and the wine was singing, and didn't remotely seem 15 years of age. Salty lime, yeast, yellow curry, vanilla, mild oxidative notes. (An astonishingly great pairing with our chickpea-chorizo-cilantro-n-lime tostadas.) Based on this bottle, this wine seems a glorious, ageless beast.

My current drinking vintage, and has been for a few years, solid recognizably Jura chardonnay blend, no particular movement over that time. Enjoyed with sous vide Cornish hen.

Still wound up pretty tight with an intense, focused core. Could have a long, interesting life ahead.

Tonight with chicken noodle leek casserole, perfect. This wine is seemingly ageless, a terrific savory chardonnay (blend, to me).
