Monday, April 6, 2020 - Slow ox for an hour before serving. Very dark in the glass with dark fruits and a floral element on the nose. On the palate, still a lot of structure, medium to full bodied, with notes of plums, cassis, cedar, tobacco and truffle. Very ripe fruit, but not cloying in the least. Lots of spice and forest floor, decaying leaves, etc. Really showing well with food. First bottle from case bought on release, I think this has plenty of time to continue to develop despite the ct drinking window estimate of 2020. Nice value to get anything from Margaux for under $20 release price.
