Saturday, April 25, 2020 - Great Burgundy is a rare find. With low yields, prices are extremely high and over the years, I have generally been disappointed. I have found 9 out of 10 bottles have performed lower than I had hoped or expected. HOWEVER, that 10th bottle....well it blows you away. It makes you forget the other 9, and makes you realise why you love burgundy so much. Domaine Leroy Clos de la Roche 1999 was one such bottle. Lalou Bize-Leroy stands virtually alone at the top of Burgundy’s quality hierarchy, because she is a perfectionist. Truly exceptional ...and for that I thank you!!
