Friday, May 1, 2020 - Pale gold in appearance - no real sign of age and a very fine bead.

Nose starts off a little oddly (potentially some volatility I thought - the same with the last bottle). However, as last time, it blew off with a bit of air revealing a nose of baked apple, citrus and vanilla. It has a richness/sweetness on the nose suggesting it's age, but still maintains a freshness.

On the palate it has a great mouth feel and more of a BdB feel - chardonnay is dominating here - dry, rich, tense and nervy with minerals, citrus and a subtle spice. Still a spike from the bubbles that fades a little in the glass.

Overall this is very good. I would recommend opening half an hour before drinking (I don't think it would stand a decant) and serving quite cold. The bottle seemed better after a little air and stint in the fridge taking it down a couple of degrees.

Not a bad way to work through the lockdown.
