Sunday, May 10, 2020 - Very mature Cab Franc, but still has some window left for drinking. Dark ruby color with lots of floral perfume on the nose. Well balanced, resolved tannins, loads of sour cherry/berries on the palate. Reviewer from two years ago said “austere” and that does capture it. Funny, but I expected an epiphany from a 20 year old wine. It was fine (with potato’s, peppers and kielbassa one night and a deep dish spicy pizza two afternoons later) but the skyrockets never really materialized. Glad I had it, and the $20 was fine—but far from my favorite wine...
