Sunday, June 21, 2020 - This is a sophisticated version of Syrah - actually a bit too sophisticated. There’s nice Syrah character, decent fragrance and acidity. But the tannins are too soft, too smooth. I don’t expect Cayuse, but I yearned for something more to grab my gums and grate my tongue. Perhaps it was more demonstrative when younger. I want my Syrah to behave a lot differently than Pinot Noir.
