Monday, August 3, 2020 - One-hour decant through an aerating funnel. Wine was clear; dark ruby. Very fragrant during decant. Nose did not subside in glass: fruit-forward aromas of blackberries, black currant jam, chocolate and plums. On the palate, the wine delivered in spades what the nose promised. Deep fruit; lots of juice; great balance! Ripe tannins but not fruit-bomb like. Structure was there to keep things in hand. Long smooth finish ending with a touch of cedar and salt. Simply outstanding.
