Friday, October 16, 2020 - Open, balanced, soft, and full bodied. The black fruits are sweet and tannins are mild. This is not a fruit forward Cali cab like other young wines where I feel the fruit and tannins are overwhelming. The wine is more sophisticated and takes a leisurely path towards enjoyment. It exhibits the softness of a Hundred Acre or French merlot. I usually do not open wines this young, but happy to have done this here. I am sure it will age well and would like to try another in three years as long as it has not shut down.

A lot of '18s are not really open at their best or accessible right now. Maybe I'll crack one of these open when you get down here......
