Monday, October 19, 2020 - A quick double decant and left it to slow ox an hour before a BYO dinner. The color is vibrant, could be mistaken for a recent release, a clear ruby and you can find a faintest of bricking around the rim if you look for it. Red-fruit dominant, predominantly wild strawberries, with spun sugar, violets, spicebox and sous-bois. There is a crystalline precision of aromas and flavors, such laser-sharp focus not commonly encountered. Dense and powerful and yet sleek and silky, the wine has a structure that is both pleasing and promises a long life ahead. The immense petrichor adds to a long finish. A textbook Ruchottes, the 2006 is very enjoyable now with a quick decant but my sense is that patience will be amply rewarded, cellaring this monumental wine for another 5-10 years.

10/20/2020 2:56:00 PM - Great note Gojumung! What an outstanding wine. Fond memories myself recently to celebrate my 65th bday. One left and wish I had at least 3 more.

    Cheers
