Thursday, October 1, 2020 - Powerful nose of raspberry, Chambord, and cassis. Palate shows strong flavours of raspberry, blackberry, and plum, backed by charred oak. Medium-bodied, with strong fruit balanced by rough acidity and firm, smooth tannin. Gradually improves over several hours in the decanter, opening and softening: ripe fruit remains, joined by an emerging note of basil. This has a long life ahead of it. It's far better than the array of bronze medals on its label would suggest.
