Powerful nose of raspberry, Chambord, and cassis. Palate shows strong flavours of raspberry, blackberry, and plum, backed by charred oak. Medium-bodied, with strong fruit balanced by rough acidity and firm, smooth tannin. Gradually improves over several hours in the decanter, opening and softening: ripe fruit remains, joined by an emerging note of basil. This has a long life ahead of it. It's far better than the array of bronze medals on its label would suggest.

Eðalklúbbur, vínsmakk #2 vor 2015 (Marbakkabraut 12): Fyrsta flaska af þremur í fyrri hluta blindsmakks. Meðaldökkt, ungt á litinn. Ljós ber og vanilla í ilmi. Vatnsmelónur, fersk sýra, smá sæta, síðan súkkulaði og vanilla í bragði. Eftir smá stund í glasi þá komu fram aseton tónar í ilmi. Þægilegt vín.

deep red/purple. I like its sweet and round side, still clear spices notes as a Shiraz, some oak touching and chocolate hints on finish. perfect with BBQ, even well drinking alone. rarely get this quality from an entry-level price (NZ$11) commercial wine.
medium/dark red. ripe plum and moderate pepper spice in nose. quite jammy in mouth, pure pleasant pepper note, subtle herbal and oak. creamy texture, smooth tannins, medium+ bodied. sweet finish with some chocolate hints. simple but nicely goes with one dimension. super QPR.
Alc 13.9%, TA 6.1 g/L, pH 3.57, HH 85, Cuisine 4.5 stars, National Wine Show of Australian 2013 - Gold, Bruxelles 2014 Gold, IWC 2014 - Bronze.

An easy drinking dinner table wine. Competently made, but not exciting.
