Monday, November 23, 2020 - I decided not to decant the wine. Poured three small glasses and left the rest in the bottle. I did pull the cork out 30 minutes before dinner and drank over the next 90 minutes. LOTS of sediment so you’ll need a strainer. Dark dark purple. Super full nose of blue fruits. Incredible, heavy mouthfeel with an explosion of blueberry, licorice, burnt wood, tobacco. Long lingering finish. Tannins are smooth but still present. Don’t think the wine improves much with more collaring. Super extraction is just amazing. Explosion of flavors with each sip. Not many California Syrah’s better than this one. You want this....Trust me.
