Right out of the bottle, on the tongue the tannins come first followed by crisp acid. Pepper, cedar, graphite, savory herbs. Appealingly long finish... quite enticing. After a few hours of decanting, it has retained a lot of its original structure: it is quite an appealing bottle, with enough acid to cut through a fatty ribeye and enough of a pleasant funk to give it backbone.
