Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - Dark purplish red fading to rose at the edge of the glass. Richly aromatic: mushrooms, wet leaves, blackcurrant, cedar. Right out of the bottle, on the tongue the tannins come first followed by crisp acid. Pepper, cedar, graphite, savory herbs. Appealingly long finish... quite enticing. After a few hours of decanting, it has retained a lot of its original structure: it is quite an appealing bottle, with enough acid to cut through a fatty ribeye and enough of a pleasant funk to give it backbone.
