Saturday, January 9, 2021 - 922th bottle of cuvée 53, for Connoisseur Wines, disgorged July 6th, 2016. This has always been a fantastically opulent and rich champagne, with tons of breadth on the palate. This bottle shows a fair bit of autolytic character, and focussing more on cooked rather than fresh fruit (though not in a bad way at all). Lovely sweetness on the midpalate, finishing with mouthwatering acidity and some biscuity tones as well. Delicious as always.
