Monday, February 8, 2021 - Cork disintegrated; wine passed through muslin to strain. Muted nose when first decanted but a noble colour showed promise. Three hours later nose of plum, dried prune, earth, perhaps some leather. In mouth a big hit of sour cherries became candied on the finish, which had a slight astringency and bitterness. Tannins well-incorporated to provide silk. Impressive acid for age. This was still good the next day.
