Saturday, August 8, 2020 - This is such a great Loire white (and a great value at $22 in Ontario), a Chenin Blanc that offers both zesty, enlivening freshness and serious complexity rooted in the local terroir. The nose is all lemon, tart apple, and minerals until it warms up a bit, when that complexity comes out, highlighted by honeydew melon, acacia honey, white flowers, sweeter apple, butterscotch, and mild pepper, and those notes replay on the palate, carried by a central wave of acidity, coated in characteristic chalk, the aromas of a flower garden hovering in the air.
