Quite tart with lemons and apple, some minerality. Also a bit of texture and depth, and some straw color. Other hints of white flowers adding complexity. Quite enjoyable.

This is such a great Loire white (and a great value at $22 in Ontario), a Chenin Blanc that offers both zesty, enlivening freshness and serious complexity rooted in the local terroir. The nose is all lemon, tart apple, and minerals until it warms up a bit, when that complexity comes out, highlighted by honeydew melon, acacia honey, white flowers, sweeter apple, butterscotch, and mild pepper, and those notes replay on the palate, carried by a central wave of acidity, coated in characteristic chalk, the aromas of a flower garden hovering in the air.

A beautifully tart complement to honey-horseradish-Dijon-grilled chicken thighs. A mono-focused linear depth that (with my insufficient experience with Chenin Blanc) I can’t tell whether it’s a varietal characteristic or specific to this bottling. Gingerale dry.

Again what a pairing. This wine complements so many dishes, in this case ginger scallion noodles and caramelized brussels and squash. Really love it.
