Tuesday, December 23, 2008 - Popped and poured.
Clear bright maroon core with a good amount of bricking around the rim. Definitely showing maturity.
The nose is clean, pure vanilla and chocolate exude from the glass with brandy laced ripe fruit follows up. There is a bit of a mothball note mixed in with spice, oak and coconut.
On the palate this wine is dry, medium acid, moderate woody tannins that have hugely mellowed out since the last time I had this bottle. Moderate + fruity body of sour cherry and loganberry with some bitterness and sage on the long finish. The palate really reflects the nose well with the same oak, fruit and spice flavors. medium alc.
Drink now - 2010
Excellent Quality. This guy needs a good half hour in the decanter to strut it's stuff.
