Bought this last year in Tenerife on vacation. Opened tonight to find lots of ripe black cherry, cassis and blackberry syrup. A bit syrah like with a strong white pepper palate. Lots of new oak, vanilla and an interesting green bell pepper streak. The finish however just leaves your mouth tasting like an ash tray.... And for a long time! The finish is intense but it tastes like you just finished a cigarette. Unreal, I have never had a wine like this.
This reminds me of that scene in Cider House Rules when that one guy is making the Cider and his ash is falling into the vat and the other guy comes up and reprimands him for potentially ruining all the cider. Anyway, Im sure this is not the case here.... right? Perhaps it has something to do with the vineyard being in close proximity to the famous Canary Islanda tobacco plantations?
Interesting for me non the less. 83 pts.
Not my favorite though. I can only imagine this flavor intensifying as this wine ages and the fruit slowly starts to fall out. So, drink now.

Dry, medium + bodied wine with a a solid woody grip. This comes off very cool climate with simple plum and red cherry notes. Complexity is supplied by a smidge of leather and lots of spice. The Alcohol sticks out a bit on the lengthy finish.
Great food wine, Drink now - 2017.

Dry, medium bodied with watery black fruits and lots of pepper. Loads of woody notes on the lengthy tannic finish. This is a real bargin at £6.
