Saturday, March 13, 2021 - This is a muscular wine, especially considering it is 64% merlot. Dark and meaty with cherry, raspberry, tar, and cocoa on the nose. Chewy tannins and some acidity on the front end suggest it has a ways to go.
This is a classic right bank blend but there is no doubt it's new world all the way. It needs red meat...a bit of a monster on its own. There is a long finish with cherry cola and malted milk balls. Flirting with the edge of what I can handle stylistically but not quite rocket fuel.
