Opened and consumed over 3 days using coravin pivot. Disclaimer that the cork broke when using a regular opener, and I tried to salvage the situation using an ah so, but still ended up with cork in the bottle. I had to use coffee filters to filter out the cork and a lot of the sediment got filtered out as well. The wine was smooth and velvety. Medium to light palate. Was fine for the first two days but had oxidized by the third day.

This is a muscular wine, especially considering it is 64% merlot. Dark and meaty with cherry, raspberry, tar, and cocoa on the nose. Chewy tannins and some acidity on the front end suggest it has a ways to go. This is a classic right bank blend but there is no doubt it's new world all the way. It needs red meat...a bit of a monster on its own. There is a long finish with cherry cola and malted milk balls. Flirting with the edge of what I can handle stylistically but not quite rocket fuel.

Very nice wine. Similar to my last notes. Seems to be drinking well now. I was surprised to see this vintage is predominately merlot. It is an enjoyable wine.

Solid A wine. The note right below me describes my experience perfectly so no need for me to write further. In a good drinking window right now, but no rush. It had this slight sour pepper finish which could be liked by some.

Pnp Blackberry menthol, forest, raspberry, cream, vanilla, a little hint of bitter, tar, and ink, but much rounder then previous vintages 06 and 07 I have had. Good fruit, alcohol is not overpowering, and velvety tannins. Weight medium slight plus, acid medium. In a good drinking window IMO. Seems well integrated and easy to drink.

Drunk alongside a 2010 Leonetti Reserve with dinner @ the Ross's. The Leo slightly outshone the QC from my perspective... although the votes were fairly even.

I agree with the majority of ratings. Wine was full bodied and excellent. Fruit forward with a nice touch of spice on the finish to give it extra interest. Loaded with sweet black and blue fruits, some earth, and eucalyptus. Highly enjoyable with salmon and barbecue sauce. I opened the bottle and let it stand for an hour. No sign of fading. I believe the wine will hold for five years and probably mellow out a bit. However, I prefer its distinctive style today with a little spice on the back end.

This was a yum from the first taste. Very dark in the glass. Nose of black tea and menthol, black fruit behind that as well and then just a touch of alcohol. Very plush in the mouth, more black tea, brambleberry, and some tannins at the finish (so no hurry). So sorry I was only allocated one bottle of this, but sure did enjoy this one!

This is my first "non-cab" from Quilceda. There was concern by the person who opened it that this one was going to be over the hill and down the other side. After taking a few samples of this over 1-2 hours, I actually think this one is still too young if anything. Don't think that this one will hit its stride soon, but is a bit disjointed now although really enjoyable tonight without a doubt. Still with some hearthy notes on the palate, but tannin is most certainly still present and sort of muting the smoked dirty black cherry note and cocoa powder that I was getting in the middle and finish. Nice bottle but better in 1 to 2 years.

I have a hard time rating almost any wine 97 points, as WA did with this wine. That being said, this was a special wine. Practically popped 'n poured at a restaurant (it sat for 20 minutes), this was a great match for the Mutton at Keens Steakhouse in NYC. Long finish.

Got a glass here now. This opened for about 2-3 hours and it needs at least that before opening, This merlot cab with cab franc is amazing. Lots of oaky tannins and good acidity. Opened with steak and this was a great complement. The palate is astringent with dark red fruits. It may need more time!

Murky berry color, showing density as expected. Black fruit, cassis, mountain nose. On the palate bramble fruit, evergreen and forest dominate with good hints of oak and black fruit. Very nice salinity and no showing big alcohol. Definitely has aging capability and shows great structure and depth. Cross of old and new world. Very well made.

Decanted and didn't touch for about 2.5 hrs. Served with a 40 day dry aged rib eye steak. This had an intensity of spirit, but I don't think it quite followed through. Nose showed loads of toast, cinnamon, clove, dark berry; all very harmonious. On the palate, soft at first, but showing some alcohol. Definitely some nice acidity to give this backbone and a beautiful finely grained tannic finish. Very long finish.
All individual components were excellent, and while everything held together well, I can't quite put my finger on what was not there.

Phenomenal! One of the better wines I have had in awhile. Decanted about 2 hours. Plush, smooth with beautiful tannins and the fruit just coated your mouth. Wish I had more.
