Sunday, March 14, 2021 - This Zin is a field blend from old vines planted in 1927. In addition to Zinfandel, this bottling includes: Petit Sirah, Grand Noir, Alicante Bouschet, Tempernillo and Peloursin.

The wine was decanted for 1 hour and drank over and additional 3 hours. The color is a medium to dark purple. The nose is of red, blue and black fruits with some spice. The taste is primarily blue and black fruits but there is a hint of red fruit as well. There are notes of spice and pepper. There is medium to medium plus acidity that takes grip of your tongue and there is just a bit of heat on the finish (15.0% ABV).

This is a delicious wine but I think it has at least another year before its in a great window, which should last for several years. I have 1 bottle left and I will hold off until 2022-2025. I think this bottle will garner another point our 2 with a little bit of cellaring. If you have patience, it should be rewarded!

This is another fine effort by Mike Officer and a great QPR!
