And cut is the key word, because that's where this wine sets itself apart. It simply has more acid cut, more length, and more minerality than most other muscadet. This strikes me as a vintage with a tension between the ripe fruit and the acidity, but there is enough verve to make it really exciting. It never veers into the roundness and almost oxidized character I find in the still riper vintages. Excellent stuff.
