Friday, May 14, 2021 - Lyon 2021 Birthday Bash; 5/14/2021-5/15/2021 (Bear Creek Woodward/Lyon Den): This bottle was spot on. Coffee and dark fruit, with cassis at the forefront. Good structure for 20 year old Napa blend. Tannins were soft, with a loooong finish, which made it my WOTN. I don't think it could have drank better at a different point in its evolution, just differently.

5/16/2021 5:00:00 PM - I really like your note JK. I've personally always preferred the 2001 to the 2002. I see it as more classically styled compared to the sweetness and extraction of the 2002.

5/16/2021 8:14:00 PM - Can you comment on how long you opened prior to drinking? I've been going on the long side, 6-8 hours of decanting and still the last glass is always better... Thx.

5/16/2021 8:44:00 PM - We opened this about an hour before drinking, and enjoyed over about 4 hours. It certainly did not fall off during that time...
