Thursday, June 3, 2021 - The 2002 Bonnes Mares is a classic representation of the terroir with masculinity, structure and power. The wine is densely knitted with spice, dark fruit, candied fruit and minerals. When the wine finally opens up in its third hour, it shows its ethereality. It clearly has upside from here, which should be 2-3 years away before it enters its drinking window. Nevertheless, the wine is actually approachable and enjoyable tonight.
