Thursday, July 1, 2021 - Beautifully pure, but also vinous like these wines always are. Very pretty aromatics of ripe apples, pear, some citrus, also some flowery notes, as well as some sweet spices and some minerality and a touch of honey. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high acidity balancing the richness and just very good mid-palate density, persistent without being heavy. Long finish with excellent freshness. A really great Val Vilaine and from my perspective year after year one of the very best grower‘s Champagnes in this price range. Too bad they are so difficult to find.
