Thursday, October 28, 2021 - Deep purple. The vanilla comes ripping out on the nose, which also has ripe plum and tobacco. A full bodied wine in the mouth; lots more plum, a little soy, and earth. I'm looking for a benchmark Carmenere and I think I'm close with this wine. The oak masks some of the typicity but this is the best standalone Carmenere that I've had. This has got many years ahead of it, but it is drinking well now. Looong finish. Good with food and on its own.
