Sunday, February 13, 2022 - Very surprised to say this—I think this could rest another five years unless paired properly (think risotto). The tannins are still there and somewhat obtrusive. Otherwise the wine is very nice. The nose shows a classic Barolo profile—rose, red fruit, fresh soil, and herbs. The palate follows, but I tend to think the tannins are preventing a fuller expression on the front and back end. In short, this is very nice but I think it can improve
