Monday, February 14, 2022 - Standard Pauillac aromas of cigar box and cassis, but also some more mouthwatering dark cherry and violet, so quite promising. On the palate however, not so good: quite a grainy but smooth mouthful of blackcurrant, not especially tannic, but that's it. No progression, no complexity, just a little black cherry on the finish. The blackcurrant is fairly concentrated, but not too much so. Perfectly drinkable but there are many other 06s better than this which cost less. Hopefully a bad phase, because I got a lot more pleasure recently from a Pibran 2010 costing four times less than the 100 euros PC 06 is selling for at auction these days.
