Sunday, July 3, 2022 - This was a pretty tasty bottle, but it lacked any kind of complexity or any of the earthy funk that I especially love in Pinot Noir, and I would rate the QPR on this bottle pretty low, as the quality of Pinot Noir from Oregon that you can get for the same price ($30ish bucks) is miles above. That being said, this had great intensity of red fruit and zippy, mouth-watering acidity. Sour pie cherries were dominant on the nose and the palate, but there was underripe strawberries and raspberries there too. Aaaand not a ton else. Maybe just the faintest hint of baking spice but I was really reaching for it and it’s entirely possible I could’ve made it up out of wishful thinking. This was nice on a hot summer day, but I’ve had a similar or better experience from a beaujolais nouveau at half or a third of the price.
