Clear relatively light ruby At first glance, this seemed like light regional Bourgogne, but with 45 minutes the nose opened up dramatically with haunting earthy flavors, bright choke cherry acidity Quite nice, needs significant airtime

Light and a simple Bourgogne, it went well with Turkish food. Low alcohol of 12%. I think I enjoyed it more than my previous bottle, from earlier this year.

I'm still very much dipping my toe into Burgundy, and as I do so, I've heard many times "producer over vineyard". Well this is a good example of how true that saying is. This is a very good producer making a lovely wine labelled simply as "Bourgogne". Not even a lieu-dit. It's expensive for a Bourgogne, but is definitely a step up in quality compared to most.
Still young at 5 years old. Acid is medium, nice smooth tannins, a roundness in texture that is very appealing. Juicy red cherry fruits, a hint of savory herbaceous qualities- not a hint of oak or earth. The mid-palate is generous and juicy. The finish falls a little short, and the overall complexity medium at best. But nonetheless, a very pleasurable wine, and one that outperforms its regional appellation label. Not sure it outperforms its price though.
I have another bottle. I'll sit on it for a bit and see what happens. It's got some mileage left in the tank.

First of 3 bottles I bought of this vintage. I think it is ready to drink now, and I'd be surprised if it improved over the next 2 years. I shared this with my wine group at an Indian restaurant, and it held its own vs the spices in the food. Not very complex, but a nice wine for the price I paid.

Unmistakably Hudelot-Noellat nose; ethereal and intoxicating. It's been about 18 months since my previous bottle and it improved greatly since then. Red-fruited profile, excellent balance, elegant and delicious. Fuller body now. 12% alc. Medium+ finish. Drinks like a solid village level. Outstanding bottle of Bourgogne.

Fortsatt en meget bra Bourgogne Rouge! En litt annen flaske enn den jeg drakk i fjor, da dette var en mer utviklet utgave, men fortsatt fin frukt og dybde for nivået.

Mid to full ruby. Nose initially seems quite autumnal, also with a slight hint of maderisation, but this seems to lift to reveal a slight hint of vanilla over the wild strawberry fruit. Bright red fruit, a densely silky, creamy texture, strawberry lightening to a mix of strawberry and cranberry. Very smooth with a sense of luxe for a BR. In a lovely spot. ***

This was a pretty tasty bottle, but it lacked any kind of complexity or any of the earthy funk that I especially love in Pinot Noir, and I would rate the QPR on this bottle pretty low, as the quality of Pinot Noir from Oregon that you can get for the same price ($30ish bucks) is miles above. That being said, this had great intensity of red fruit and zippy, mouth-watering acidity. Sour pie cherries were dominant on the nose and the palate, but there was underripe strawberries and raspberries there too. Aaaand not a ton else. Maybe just the faintest hint of baking spice but I was really reaching for it and it’s entirely possible I could’ve made it up out of wishful thinking. This was nice on a hot summer day, but I’ve had a similar or better experience from a beaujolais nouveau at half or a third of the price.

Bright mid to full ruby. Red fruited nose. Densely silky, this is consistent with a bottle 16 months ago, slowly putting on weight without compromising the silky, floaty red fruit. Redcurrants now quite evident, and sweet ones without any of the tartness that they often signal. Fresh, poised and very drinkable. Heading towards top ***

Lovely aromas of wild raspberries, light cinnamon oak spice, and hints of moist clay. Already surprisingly soft and silky, with open-knit fruit, juicy acidity, light tannins and low alcohol (12%). Drinks like a charm and will be hard to keep, but might be even lovelier with some tertiary aromas, which might take three to five years to develop.

Up a point since my last taste of it. This was showing well on day 2. Notes of wild cranberry, fresh strawberry, not too savory. The acid supports but doesn’t take over. This drinks appropriately at the Bourgogne level but does so in a clean, charming, fruit driven way.

Medium dark garnet, light nose of creosote, spice, light fruit, juicy, tangy dark cherry fruit, dark raspberry notes, excellent acidity, spice, maybe some hints of wood but hard to know with all the acidity and spice going on here. Has nice complexity and interest for a "lowly" bourgogne, an excellent weeknight - or in this case Saturday night - Pinot!

Tasting Hudelot-Noellat Bourgogne 2014, 2016 and 2017.
2014 had the best, most aromatic nose. 2016 was a close second place with a bit more range, and 2017 was a distant third.
2014 palate was medium bodied, nice acidity giving it lift, mostly red-fruited profile. 89-90
2016 has more depth, a bit more dark fruited (ripe cherries). Gorgeous wine! Way above its level. Amazing balance. 91-92
2017 is lighter body than both '14 and '16. Least expressive, can use a little bit more time. Not sure it's ever going to be on par with the outstanding 2016, but it is an excellent wine nevertheless. Probably the most elegant, ethereal of the three. 89-90
There is no rush to drink up 2014 as this producer's wine are excellent agers. Can see this drinking well for the next 5 years at least without fading.

This is a light (12 %) and correct red Burgundy with no tannins to speak of. I found it somewhat underwhelming and a bit on the lean side though it did no harm, except to the wallet.

This is beautifully pure and elegant. A floral, perfumed nose, full of tense red fruit. With air the wine relaxes, and the palate is full of ripe red berries, violets and spice. This is relatively light, but nicely textured. Very much a mini-Chambolle, and delicious to drink in youth.

Coravin. Light ruby with tinge of purple at the edges, clear; aromatic, red cherry, spice; palate is light bodied, elegant medium-plus acidity, low 12% alcohol, youthful red fruit, balanced through the midpalate; short-medium length finish. Excellent bourgogne-level burgundy. Will likely age a few years, but I've consumed my bottles early... 87

What a lovely Bourgogne, with plenty of juicy, darker cherry fruit, well balanced with nice acidity and just enough fine tannic structure for completeness. More interest and complexity than might be expected from a “simple Bourgogne”, just a tasty wine.

So good I bought another case. My wife thought it was an $80 Rhys and it kind of drinks like one. For $35 this is as good as it gets in the Burgundy region...if you're into modern expression and wine making of red Burgundy. Opened up after 30 min of slo ox. Big rich like as extracted as one would like. Wish it had some more red fruits, berries but think its not in its future.

Cherry fruit, rose florals, some Vosne like spice and mossy undertones on the nose. It's light to midweighted, graceful, fresh fruited, with more Vosne spice and lovely florals on the palate. Nice sap considering its lithe frame, with excellent balance and a sense of harmony. Quite long on the back end. An excellent AC Bourgogne that is hitting its stride.

PnP 2 hours prior to dinner and slow ox in Riedel Burg glasses. Semi translucent ruby red color. I had pre dinner sips at both cellar temp and later as it warmed up. I decided to bring the temp back down to cellar with 25 minutes in the frig door. Warmer this shows more weight, currants and blackberry fruit. At cellar temp it feels more weightless and offers up raspberry / cherry fruit palate along with mineral and spice. Light floral aromatics at this point. Either way the wine is balanced, elegant and energetic. Well, maybe more energized in high 50s than the mid -high 60s. Your mileage may vary but I prefer sub 60 degrees. Only 12% alc is impressive these days. Punches well above its $32 price point drinking a lot like village Chambolle. Happy to own 2 more, should have bought 6. Perfect with salmon tonight.

Coravin. Light ruby but with minimal to no bricking; high intensity aromatics with some spice, deeper red fruit, cherry; palate is light bodied, elegant low tannins, medium-plus fresh acidity throughout which gives the wine a bit of lift, some red fruits, length is a bit limited but gets through the midpalate; finish is medium-minus length. Previous notes that describe this wine as not that complex but incredibly drinkable (and balanced) are correct. 87, but that number may undersell its enjoyability. I will drink over the next few years, but it should age well.

Cherry fruit, rose, some Vosne like spice and earthy undertones on the nose. It's light to midweighted, fresh fruited, pretty, floral and perfumed on the palate, with good balance and a sense of harmony. Excellent breadth and depth for an AC Bourgogne. A pretty if not profound cherry and subtle floral and spiced nose. Light bodied with more cherry fruit, subtle florals, and some mossy undertones. On the palate, a little more spice, red fruits and roses, along with mossy herbal back end, but it's a bit thin on the palate and lacks depth. It is enjoyable, and while a perfectly serviceable AC Bourgogne, it is a far cry from the quality of the '15.

En primeur this was delicious. So I thought let’s take those on early and have then delivered once physical to get a peak on the vintage. My score only tells a bit of the story. This wine is unbelievably DELICIOUS! So perfumes on the nose. Yes it is guilty of lacking complexity of course and the finish is not long. But from a Bourgogne what I love is to get drinkablily, this is so easy, clocks in at 12 pct alc flat. Just lovely if you want to reach for an easy glass and not intellectualise over it. BTW interesting to see even the Bourgogne level featuring some anti counterfeit tags.

Entry level Pinot from Hudolet-Noellat. Better the second day after opening. Beautiful ruby color. Surprising dark fruit on the nose. Pnp. Litt vel fatpreget og funky ved åpning, men klarner opp etter 15-20 min i glasset. Åpen og flott. God fruktkvalitet. Transparent lys frukt ala bringebær og kirsebær. Floral og parfymert, nervøs og følsom i stilen. Ren og fersk frukt i munn. Elegant, men med god vekt for nivået. God friskhet. Medium kons og lengde. Drikker bra. God vin, dårlig QPR.

Part of an education in Burgundy by buying the Bourgognes of the best producers. A lot of folks cite it as their favorite, and I can see why. It's ready to go now, and it keeps opening up in the glass, starting very bright and cherry-red, and settling down a bit in the glass. I don't sense the structure or restraint of my current fave (Meo Camuzet) but I still dig it.

The colour is pale ruby. On the nose, lovely Pinot-perfume with crushed raspberries and strawberries. A hint of smoke on top, but this fades almost entirely away with air. On the palate, the wine offers fresh, bright red fruit, with a juicy acidity that makes your mouth water. Ultra-ultra fine tannins give some structure and grip to the finish. Yes it is a light wine, but it is a pure joy to drink. A really well made regional Burgundy!

A good young drinker that got better and better - and still good on the 2nd day as well.

Bright colour, light taste. Very elegant wine without food. Or maybe with fish?
Not a wine for beef with pebersouce.... But if you like to enjoy a glass of wine when you prepare you dinner, this is perfect
Really liked the elegant style of this wine
This is 2017 - and Iwill drink the rest of my wines in 2021-2023

My wife thought it was an $80 Rhys
and it kind of drinks like one. For $35 this is as good as it gets in the Burgundy region...if you're into modern expression and wine making of red Burgundy. Opened up after 30 min of slo ox. Big rich like as extracted as one would like. Wish it had some more red fruits, berries but think its not in its future.

Absolutely the best Bourgogne level wine I’ve ever experienced. Serious weight here, an unexpected surprise. Floral and quite extracted, with a delightful earthiness. What a remarkable value!

Burgundy violet color. Nose herbal, forest floor.
Palate some earth, cranberry brightness. Jewel-like red fruit clarity. A sappy intensity.
Very nice for its level and seems to be open for business now.
Day 2: nose some more spice and blackberry depth. On palate, silky texture, very nice fruity depth, cherry, balanced earth. Even more lovely today.

Smelled TCA on my fingers after removing cork from the corkscrew. Did not smell it in the wine - well, for about five minutes. But was already headed to undrinkable immediately.

Bright, crunchy, almost playful Bourgogne rouge with notes of cranberry relish and a little mossiness/sous bois. With a little air, some faint florals and spice appear from the background. Very pleasant

This has fleshed out a bit compared to my last bottle. Quite nice and worth the tariff.

Full ruby with a glint of cherry. Nicely red-fruited nose. Cherry, and quite a velvety texture on the attack with fine tan is and somebody, lightening with air to take on a brighter red fruited, silkier and fresher guise. Good BR. ***

Dark fruit, bramble and light spice on the palate with a nice balance of soft tannins and alcohol (12%). A wonderful option both in quality and value to experience an entry level Burgundy.
