Sunday, March 29, 2009 - A good but perhaps not great Taylor VP. Deep ruby with a black core. Nose is dominated by cassis. mineral dust, bitter orange, waxy aromas. In the mouth, intense fruit (cherry syrup) but a bit bitter with a distinctive flavor of brioche on the forepalate. Should be pretty good at maturity in a decade or so, but does need the time and I doubt that this will ever approach the very best Taylor vintages.
