Sunday, August 14, 2022 - Vanilla and olive almost peppery aroma. Stone fruit and oaky on the palate with medium-low acidity. Medium, slightly chalky tannins which makes it easy to drink and pair with food and yet quite distinctive. Clean finish and doesn't linger. A very interesting wine with an unfamiliar grape varietal for European wine drinkers.
I think it pairs really well with red meat but not the very fatty kind (which requires a bit more acidity than this one). For an unconventional pairing, try this with sourdough bread and truffle butter - it acts almost like an olive oil of sort due to the pepperiness.
88 on its own but definitely 90+ when paired with tenderloin steak.
