Sunday, October 14, 2012 - bought this in a two-pack with a bottle of the Carneros (also 2002), and they couldn't be farther apart. the Carneros was rich, dark, and almost creamy, while this came out of the bottle almost lean, but put on some weight with air to turn into a very elegant wine (albeit one with very noticeable oak). initially tart and sour, something was always out of balance (first acidity, then tannin, then oak, then tannin again somehow) over the 3-4 hours it decanted, right up until the very end where it pulled together into a really classy cab.
